Bartering has grown more sophisticated from the days when health and medical practitioners traded their products and services for livestock and vegetables.

Smart business owners are now joining barter exchanges to get new clients and offset their cash costs.

Established in 1994, the Barter Business Exchange, Inc. is the largest bartering network for business owners in North Carolina.

Are you a business owner who provides health and medical services that needs more new clients?

Let your clients and patients pay for your services with BBE barter dollars through the Barter Business Exchange!

How it works:

In order to participate, business owners must join the BBE bartering network.

We refer new customers to your company.

The new customers we send to you will pay for your products and services with BBE barter dollars which you can use to purchase products and services from any of the other participating businesses in the bartering network.

We currently have over 1,000 active business listings in the BBE Marketplace, our state-of-the-art online business membership directory.  We have full-time Barter Brokers who can personally assist you with your barter needs and promote your business to the other businesses in the BBE bartering network. They also send out broadcast emails that features new members, special offers, and businesses that what more barter business.

BBE also belongs to the International Reciprocal Trade Association / IRTA and the National Association of Trade Exchanges / NATE, the Barter Industry associations that educate and set the ethical standards for the barter exchanges that are accepted into their associations.

Once you are a member of BBE, you can also trade nationally and globally with hundreds of established, reputable barter exchanges that belong to IRTA and NATE.

Sellers follow simple instructions to record their barter sales via phone or online.  BBE records all products and services purchased and sold by your company on a monthly statement that can be accessed online 24/7 through our secured database.

What are the tax advantages of bartering?

The Internal Revenue Service treats barter income just like cash income. The best tax advantage is to use the earned barter income to purchase the normal expenditures that are tax deductible.
