What is the BBE Marketplace?


The BBE Marketplace is an online database where clients in good standing can bypass speaking to a live human being to view account information, process authorizations, make payments, and view the directory of active business owners in the bartering network who are currently accepting barter dollars for payment.

How to spend your barter dollars:

View all of the active clients who are accepting barter business. The BBE Marketplace will not display clients who are “on hold”.

Search for products and services available on barter by key words, business name, owner’s name, location, town, zip codes, and category listings.

View “What’s New” to see new clients, new products and services offered from existing clients, and/or one-time special offers.

View and book travel online.

Use the online shopping cart to view and purchase gift cards, gift certificates, scrip, and showroom inventory.

Link directly to any client’s website, FaceBook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google + pages.

Subscribe to the “Barter Loop” to receive daily broadcast emails featuring new members, one-time offers,  travel, tickets, and special trade opportunities.

How do I search for products and services available on barter?


Enter in a key word in the green “Search” box in the upper right of the screen of the BBE Marketplace homepage. Click the “Go” button and it will display all active BBE clients with that search word in their descriptions.

Search the entire database of active BBE clients by clicking the “BBE Member Directory” button listed below the shopping cart icon on the left hand side of the homepage. Click “View Full List” or click one of the desired sub-categories.

Search for products and services category by clicking a specific category below the “BBE Member Directory” button on the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage. Each category has sub-categories to help clients with a more detailed search.

Each client listing is assigned an Item #. Client can bypass searches by entering in the Item # of the client in the “Item #” box on the bottom left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage above BBE’s address.
 

How do I view the new members and special offers on barter?


Click the "What’s New" category below the BBE Member Directory button on the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage to view new clients, new products and services offered by existing clients, and new one-time offers.
 

How do I view travel opportunities?


Click the "Travel" category below the BBE Member Directory button on the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage to view and book travel on barter.
 

How do I view restaurants and golf courses that are accepting scrip for payment?


Click the “Gift Cards / Certificates & Scrip” category below the “BBE Member Directory” button on the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage and click “Scrip” to view a list of all BBE restaurants that are currently accepting scrip for payment.
 

How do I use the online shopping cart to purchase scrip?


Click the “Gift Cards / Certificates & Scrip” category below the “BBE Member Directory” button on the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage and click the “Scrip” sub-category. Click “Read More” for the desired client. Scrip can be ordered from any restaurant; but remember, all scrip is also valid at any of the participating BBE restaurants listed in the scrip category. Under the “Place your order online, items selected will be added to your shopping cart” icon, select the quantity of scrip and click the “Update Cart” button. In the green “Welcome Barter Business Exchange Marketplace” icon on the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage, click the “Shopping Cart” icon. Review the order and click the “Check out” button. Review the account information and shipping address. Check off “Will pick up” if you want to pick up the order at the BBE office. Please list any “Special Requests” in the box. Click the “Finalize Order” and the order will be shipped on the next business day. All scrip is non-refundable. When client receives the scrip, client must sign the enclosed form and return it to BBE in the enclosed envelope.
 

How do I view available gift cards and gift certificates for sale?


On the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage, click the “Gift Cards / Certificates & Scrip” category below the “BBE Member Directory” button.  Click the “Gift Cards” or “Gift Certificates” sub-categories.
 

How do I use the online shopping cart to purchase gift cards and gift certificates?


Click the “Gift Cards / Certificates & Scrip” category below the “BBE Member Directory” button on the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage and click “Gift Cards” or “Gift Certificates” categories. Click “Read More” for the desired client. Under the “Place your order online, items selected will be added to your shopping cart” icon, select the quantity of gift cards or gift certificates and click the “Update Cart” button. In the green “Welcome Barter Business Exchange Marketplace” icon on the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage, click the “Shopping Cart” icon. Review the order and click the “Check out” button. Review the account information and shipping address. Check off “Will pick up” if you want to pick up the order at the BBE office. How do I view available inventory for sale in the BBE Showroom?


Click the “Showroom Merchandise” category below the “BBE Member Directory” button on the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage and click “Showroom Merchandise” to view a list of the available inventory for sale in the BBE office’s showroom.
 

How do I use the online shopping cart to purchase products from the BBE Showroom?


Click the “Showroom Merchandise” category below the “BBE Member Directory” button on the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage and click the “Showroom Merchandise” category. Click “Read More” for the desired client. Under the “Place your order online, items selected will be added to your shopping cart” icon, select the quantity and click the “Update Cart” button. In the green “Welcome Barter Business Exchange Marketplace” icon on the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage, click the “Shopping Cart” icon. Review the order and click the “Check out” button. Review the account information and shipping address. Check off “Will pick up”. Please list any “Special Requests” in the box. Click the “Finalize Order”. BBE will NOT ship showroom merchandise. All products purchased must be picked up at the BBE office.
 

How do I link to a client’s FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google + and website pages?


In each client’s directory listing, there are FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Google + icons in the upper left hand corner below the Item #. Click the icons to link to these sites. To link to the client’s website, click the website address listed in the contact information.  If a client does not have FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and/or Google +, the icon will not appear in their BBE Marketplace listing.
 

What is the Barter Loop?


Each business day, we send a broadcast email or fax to all authorized barter card holders and pre-paid debit card holders to advertise the new members, one-time offers, tickets, travel offers, and trade offers from the BBE clients who want more barter business.
 

How do I subscribe to the Barter Loop?


On the BBE Marketplace homepage, click the “Barter Loop” link located directly above the photo of Raleigh. List name, company name, and email address. Click the “Submit” button. Within one week, client will begin to receive the broadcast emails and fax offers.
 

How can I view archived Barter Loop offers?


Click the “Barter Loop” category below the “BBE Member Directory” button on the left hand side of the BBE Marketplace homepage and click the desired date and description to view archived broadcast emails.
 

What is the Barter Blog?


The "Barter Blog" is a great way to keep up to date with the latest news at BBE and in the Barter Industry. We will post new members, one-time offers, last minute specials, articles, and important website links to help the BBE clients be informed and educated about the latest and the greatest in the world of barter. How can I view or post in the Barter Blog?


On the BBE Marketplace homepage, click the “Barter Blog” link located directly above the photo of Raleigh. This link 'will take the client directly to the the blog on the website.
 

How can I view information about the Barter Fair?


On the BBE Marketplace homepage, click the Blog link located directly above the photo of Raleigh. This link will take the client directly to the BBE’s barter Blog” on BBE’s website.
 

What is a Featured Member?


The BBE Marketplace’s home page features six “Featured Member” advertisements. Each advertisements lists one photograph, the company name, and a “Learn More” link to the advertised client’s BBE Marketplace listing. Each time a client clicks on the BBE Marketplace homepage, the “Featured Member” advertisements will rotate to a new group of “Featured Members”.
 

How can I advertise my business as a Featured Member?


Clients should call their barter brokers to request to be advertised as a Featured Member. These free advertisements are reserved for clients in good standing. There are a limited number of advertising slots.  New clients and clients that are offering specials on barter will always be listed first. To be fair to everyone, the clients that have been advertised the longest will automatically be removed from the skew as new clients request to be added.
 

What is Popular Trade?


On the bottom of every page in the BBE Marketplace there are eight "Popular Trade” advertisements. Each advertisement lists the company name of the clients that want more barter business. Clients can click the company name to link to the advertised businesses BBE Marketplace listing. Each time a client clicks to a different page in the BBE Marketplace, the “Popular Trades” advertisements will rotate to a new group of “Popular Trades”.
 

How can I advertise my business as a Popular Trade?


Clients should call their barter brokers to request to be advertised as a “Popular Trade”. These free advertisements are reserved for clients in good standing. There are a limited number of advertising slots. To be fair to everyone, the clients that have been advertised the longest will automatically be removed from the skew as new clients request to be added.
 

What is a Sponsored Ad?


Next to each client’s BBE Marketplace listing, there are four “Sponsored Ads” on the right hand side. Each advertisements lists one photograph, the company name, and a “Learn More” link to the advertised client’s BBE Marketplace listing. Each time a client views a different BBE Marketplace listing, the “Sponsored Ads” will rotate to a new group of “Sponsored Ads”.
 

How can I advertise my business as a Sponsored Ad?


Clients should call their BBE barter brokers to request to be advertised as a “Sponsored Ad”. These advertisements are reserved for clients in good standing. 

 

What is the Spotlight?


Each day on the BBE Marketplace’s home page a BBE client is featured in the “Spotlight” for a 24-hour period. This free ad space is reserved for the new clients, client's with special offers, and client's who have new products and services to offer in the barter network. The “Spotlight” lists one photo, the company name, a short description of the new member or special offer, and a “Learn More” link to their BBE Marketplace listing. 
 

How can I advertise my business on the Spotlight?


Clients should call their barter brokers to request to be advertised on “Spotlight”. This free advertising “Spotlight” slot is reserved for new BBE clients and clients that have a one-time offers or specials on barter.
 

How do I modify my company's description and contact information online?


On the BBE Marketplace homepage, click the “Account” link located directly above the photo of Raleigh. Scroll down and click the “Modify Account” button. Enter all changes. Click the “Confirm” button. The barter brokers will review and update the changes on the next business day.

 

How do I update my company photographs and description?


Each client is entitled to have nine (9) pictures for each company listing in the BBE Marketplace. If a new client has specific pictures that they want featured on their company profile, please email them to broker@ncbarter.com. If clients do not send the pictures via email, the BBE staff will automatically upload image from the client’s website and/or BBE will upload free Internet images that represent the client’s type of business. If the client does not provide these images for BBE to upload, then BBE reserves the right to minimize the photo selection to one or two images. BBE will not knowingly upload images that do not belong to the said client. The BBE barter brokers will copy data from the client’s website for the BBE Marketplace listing. Clients can email broker@ncbarter.com a detailed description of the products and services that are offered for 100% barter. Information received during business hours will be immediately updated in live time. All information received after business hours will be updated on the next business day.
 

Can I advertise my other businesses in the BBE Marketplace?


Clients having more than one business may be listed under additional trade categories in the BBE Marketplace at no additional charge so long as only one account statement is required. Client having more than one business that requires separate account statements may open separate accounts for each business at no additional charge. Client will be charged a monthly administrative fee for each business having a separate account.
 

How do I process an online authorization?


On the BBE Marketplace homepage, click the “Authorization” link located directly above the photo of Raleigh. This link will take the client directly to an online authorization screen. Enter in the “Seller Account Number”, the “Buyer Account Number”, the “Transaction Amount” in dollars and cents, and the “Description” of the products and services purchased. Click the “Verify Information” button. Review the information and click the “Click here to Authorize Transaction” button. It will state “Transaction Approved and the Transaction # is” for all transaction numbers that are authorized. Please write the number on the 3-part form. If the transaction is not approved, client will receive this message, “Transaction Not Approved”.
 

How can I view my account balance and information?


To view your account balance information, click the “Account” link located directly above the photo of Raleigh. Scroll down and click View Account. You will be able to view:
 
Account Number: Your BBE account number

Member Since: The date that you joined BBE
 
Total Barter Transactions: Your total barter sales since joining BBE
 
Current Trade Balance: Your current trade balance without your credit limit
 
Credit Limit: The total of your barter loan
 
Available Trade Balance: The total amount trade dollar available to spend including your credit limit
 
Cash Fees Due: The total cash fees due
 
Late Payment Date: The date that your cash fees are due
 
Last Payment Amount: The amount of your last cash payment to BBE
 
Current: The amount of your current cash fees due
 
30 Days: The amount of the cash fees owed to BBE that are 30 days past due
 
60 Days: The amount of the cash fees owed to BBE that are 60 days past due

90 Days: The amount of the cash fees owed to BBE that are 90 days past due

120 Days: The amount of the cash fees owed to BBE that are 120 days past due

Make Payment Now (Payleap): To pay your cash fees online

MTD Transactions: View your current month-to-date barter transactions

YTD Sales: Your total year-to-date barter sales

YTD Purchases: Your total year-to-date barter purchases

Previous Statements: Download and view any monthly statement from the past three years.
 

How can I view my monthly statement before the statements are issued?


On the BBE Marketplace homepage, click the “Account” link located directly above the photo of Raleigh. Scroll down and click “View Account”. Scroll down to the “MTD Transactions” located below the Trading History bar. Click view online here to view current barter balance. Each business day, the BBE account balances are updated when the transactions are posted to BBE’s accounting database.
 

How do I pay my cash fees online?


To pay your cash fees online, click the “Account” link located directly above the photo of Raleigh. Scroll down and click “View Account”. Scroll down to the “Make A Payment Now (Payleap)” link located above the Trading History bar. Complete the information and click the “Submit Payment” button. Your credit cards or debit card will be automatically charged. BBE will credit the client’s account on the next business day for all authorized payments.
 

How do I update my federal name and tax identification number changes online?


On the BBE Marketplace homepage, click the “Account” link located directly above the photo of Raleigh. Scroll down and click “Modify Account”. Scroll down to “To modify your Fed ID # - Please print out attached w-9 form and fax to us.” Click the link to down load the form.
 

How to I link to the BBE’s web page from the BBE Marketplace?


On the BBE Marketplace homepage, click the “Barter Business Exchange” to link to BBE’s website.
 

What are the terms and conditions of accessing the BBE Marketplace?


Clients and pre-paid debit card holders who are members in good standing have access to the BBE Marketplace. Use of the website and BBE Marketplace constitutes client’s agreement to abide by the BBE Trading Policies and Procedures. BBE reserves the right in its sole discretion to restrict debit card holders and clients that are not in good standing from viewing selected clients in the BBE Marketplace or from use of the website and BBE Marketplace altogether. Use of the website and BBE Marketplace are a privilege given at the discretion of BBE, and BBE reserves the right to refuse admission to website or the online BBE Marketplace for any reason whatsoever.
 

How do I register for the BBE Marketplace?


You must be a member of the Barter Business Exchange to have access to the BBE Marketplace. All authorized barter card holders and pre-paid debit card holders must register online to have access to the BBE Marketplace. 

Click the "Member Login" icon in the upper right hand  corner of this page and it that will take you to the "Welcome to the member’s only section of Barter Business Exchange, Inc." On the left hand side, above the city of Raleigh, click the "Members Register Here" icon. Enter all fields. Check off "View Account Information Online" and "Agree to terms and conditions." Click the "Register" button.


This information will be sent to the barter brokers who will activate your account on the next business day after verifying that the information entered is correct. If a client registers online during the normal business hours Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, clients can call the BBE office to ask the barter brokers to activate them immediately.

When a pre-paid debit card holder registers to have access to the BBE Marketplace, these clients should list the name of the company that issued their pre-paid debit card under “Business Name” and the number listed on their pre-paid debt card as their “Account Number”. Pre-paid debit card holders will be given access to the BBE Marketplace to view the products and services available to spend on barter; but, pre-paid debit card holders will not have access to their account barter balances, which can be obtained by calling the BBE office at (919) 469-5538.
 

Once the client’s account has been confirmed by the barter brokers, client will be sent an email that says, “Your account has been approved for entry into the Barter Business Exchange's Online Membership Marketplace.” 
 

How do I log into the BBE Marketplace?


After the client registers and receives the approval email, client can log in by going to www.ncbarter.com and click “Member Login” icon in the upper right hand corner and it will take you to the “Welcome to the member’s only section of Barter Business Exchange, Inc.”  On the right hand side, enter in the registered email address and password.  Click the “Login” button.

 

How can I reset my password to the BBE Marketplace?

Go to www.ncbarter.com and click “Member Login” icon in the upper right hand corner and it will take you to the “Welcome to the member’s only section of Barter Business Exchange, Inc.”  On the right hand side, enter in the registered email address and click the "Reset Password" button. Please enter in your login id again (your email address) and click the "Submit" button. Check your email to get your new password. Click the link in the email to reset the password. Enter and reenter the new password and click the "Submit" button.  Client will have immediate access into the BBE Marketplace under the new password.
